This last week was a blur.... I struggled to remember to pick up my camera the majority of each day and then wrestled with the idea that we weren't doing anything worthy of a photo, like last Sunday when I realized I hadn't taken any photos yet and decided to just find one real quick before it got too dark and decided on capturing that hypnotizing blue TV light while it graced my son's face (15/365). In the end I am really happy I took pictures anyways, It was so nice to see all of these memories preserved, I know it will be especially great to have them all at the end of the year. Yes, even the picture of the tv face, he's not going to be this age forever, I am glad to have committed to capturing all these things. Monday...My husband brought home a fresh cusk from off the boat, we all love fish cakes, they are so good!! My favorite thing to see, big sister helping little brother! <3 Wed the 18th....We were supposed to be taking photos of these baby rabbits to find homes, this was the first one, it broke her heart too much to even think about finding a home for her new best friends. Daddy doesn't like to see a broken heart, so guess what? we are keeping all 8 baby rabbits. That makes 15 pet rabbits on our little homestead. I didnt do anything in the kitchen the day before.... this is what I get, A Huge Mess! it was so bad every surface was covered, I had to make it my picture for the day. Thankfully, at least my buddy read me a few stories of the famous Frog and Toad while I cleaned. Pretty light on lunch. I was able to get in the frame again this week. This time I set up the camera to do a self portrait, I hope to do more of these in the coming weeks.... I love hanging out with my kids.
And here I am week two... This week was back to regular life after finally settling in after the Holidays. There is an extra picture in here this week for the 11th, my husband took it, another goal for this year is to get myself in the frame more often, I didn't even have to ask him to pick up the camera for the moment, he just knew. I love him! Boy, I love that cute little lip. This is total a victory this week and worth rejoicing over, He's loving frog and Toad and doesn't want to stop reading to me. She's making a mini farmyard for mini rabbits, we got the idea to do fairy houses and this little lady just loves rabbits too much to make a fairy house, so a bunny hut it is. I'll make sure to take a photo of the finished project, this coming week. To see my first week click here: 365 week 1 Have a nice week ahead to you and your family!
I have thought for a while to do a 365 day project, but anytime I thought of it, it wasnt on January first and quickly dismissed the idea, discouraged myself into assuming I would not finish...I decided if I do it -great, if I dont finish it -great, the goal either way is that I want to get in the practice of picking up my camera everyday this year. I sadly let a lot of time go by last year in photographying my own family. I've watched others have a succesful 365 and what an accomplishment it will be if I can actually stick to it --we'll see... The idea of documenting this fleeting time of our lives is so important to me, my four kids are growing so fast. The first day of the year was a perfect way to begin; it was warm for Jan. in Downeast Maine (40's) so we went on a hike to a beautiful spot we had not been before, in Tresscott at Bog Brook Cove, about 45 minutes from us. Naturally I brought along my camera and it just worked out to be a fabulous day to strart this project. We've had a nice first week of the year, one real rough day of homeschooling (day 5) but we always get through these, no matter how much I think I am failing during that particullary hard day, I remind myself the next day will better and it usually is. We ended our week with another short walk outside in a different beautiful place of on the coast they call the Rim, In East Machias. This time we were all very cold by the end, except my littlest who thought ahead and wore his snowsuit. Here's to a fun filled year ahead!
