Have you ever seen a first look for dad and daughter? This was a first for me but it was so sweet! I am so glad the bride asked. It was very special! This moment, less than an hour before he would be walking his little princess down the aisle for her to meet her love, shows how much this awesome Father of the Bride is so proud and and just loves his daughter so much! It was so special that this special time was set aside for them as a family before the ceremony. I love to be there to capture these precious moments. And then off to a her wedding day! --what a special day it was!
These two are celebrating their one and half year anniversary together. I had never shared the pictures of their beautiful beach wedding. I loved the relaxed atmosphere, great music and beautiful setting of Roque Bluffs! One of the most important parts of capturing a wedding for me is all the loving family interactions. Its such a wonderful day, and goes by so quickly I am so glad I could be there for them to capture the memories. To view the photos larger click on the first picture to enlarge and swipe left.
Madison, originally from Tennessee and Travis from Central Maine. Their wedding took place in Dedham, Maine. They have a unique love story and a little piece of it is shared below with Madison's own words. Travis and I were married on April 29, 2017. Our love story is unique because years ago, we were both hopeless heroin addicts. When we were saved by God's grace, all we knew is we desired to be free from drugs and we wanted to serve the Lord in ministry. I love how our Lord always does exceedingly, abundantly above all we could ever think or imagine. He brought us together after a season of serving Him wholeheartedly and remaining in His Word. We both completed two years of the Calvary Chapel residential discipleship programs in Bangor, Maine and both stayed to serve in the School of Ministry for an extra year as well. In preparation for the wedding day, we visited our venue and I had a moment alone outside overlooking the aisle I would be walking down. I had a flashback to the broken, abused, addicted girl I use to be.. I was looking out of a window hopelessly and thinking the thought I use to think every day.. "I'll never get out of here." At that moment, Psalm 18:16-19 came to my mind. "He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters... He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me." It brought tears to my eyes both then, and on our wedding day to think God so loved us both to not only create and die for us, but bring us both together in freedom and love. I am amazed He allows us to serve Him and be a light to the world, an example of His love for His church. The Lord has given me to such an amazing man. Not only is he an amazing pastor and shepherd to the church we serve in ministry at here in Hawaii, Travis is an amazing leader and shepherd in our home and family. They went with a true to Maine woodsy organic theme with decor which went perfectly with the log cabin feel of the venue. They chose to do their first look on a beautiful mountain in Dedham with one of the best views in Maine. This was a true celebration, simple in style --big in heart with friends and family from far and near to gather together before the couple made a big move to Hawaii where they are now giving their lives to help others. Venue and catering: Peakes Hill Lodge Dedham, ME Cake: Tina’s Confection Perfection Glenburn, ME Hair and Makeup: Kim Veillieux Jaqueline Wortmon Dress: David’s Bridal JEWEL line Flowers and Decor: DIY Formal Portraits and Honeymoon suite: Lucerne Inn, Dedham I am so grateful that Aura was available to capture the valuable moments on our wedding day. She was so present, and though she did a great job of being invisible, she felt like a part of the family by the end of the night. She smiled when we smiled, enjoyed the good times and even helped calm my nerves when I was anxious, giving me great encouragement.
Not only do we now have pictures of the special ceremony that took place, but also great action shots to capture our loved ones enjoying our day. The pictures that were taken are really a treasure to my heart and they tell a beautiful story of our special day. We will have these amazing photos to look back on and be ornaments in our home for years to come! With an amazingly special ceremony and fun family oriented time full of rejoicing and love. Its always a delight to meet new couples, hear their love story and then be there to preserve the memories for one of the most important days of their lives. These two's passion for God and each other is inspiring... I run out of words, it is my I hope the photos will speak for themselves. Melissa shared with me some words about how special it was to be married in the church her husband grew up in and she is now a part of; "Our favorite part of the marriage was definitely the ceremony. It was special because my husband grew up at the church and was personally trained by Pastor Ken who got to watch him grow up, and then marry us! I loved how glorifying it was to the Lord, and how much of the work of Christ in our lives was brought to center stage. It made all of the waiting worth it." For their couples portraits they choose to go back to the very place he proposed on the night they got engaged, this made them so very extra special! God bless your marriage! You two have a life time of joy ahead of you! "Aura was a great choice to be my wedding photographer! Shes definitely not afraid of the cold or to climb on top of things! She was very good at just going with the flow of things and getting action shots. I loved how natural it was. Since my wedding was at night and we were taking the pictures at night, I thought this would be a problem especially since we wanted pictures outside, but she personally brought all of the right equipment to make that work for me, which I am very thankful for! the pictures came out great, and I love the online gallery and all of the options there are. So blessed by her service!" ~Melissa
They had the most beautiful day for an elegant backyard wedding, at her Maine childhood home, behind the most amazing farmhouse and barn. An intimate, fun, sweet gathering of family and friends to share their love with each other... These photos will give a little peek on this momentous day and the love and joy shared. You two truly cherish each other and have a lifetime of happiness before you!
