Madison, originally from Tennessee and Travis from Central Maine. Their wedding took place in Dedham, Maine. They have a unique love story and a little piece of it is shared below with Madison's own words. Travis and I were married on April 29, 2017. Our love story is unique because years ago, we were both hopeless heroin addicts. When we were saved by God's grace, all we knew is we desired to be free from drugs and we wanted to serve the Lord in ministry. I love how our Lord always does exceedingly, abundantly above all we could ever think or imagine. He brought us together after a season of serving Him wholeheartedly and remaining in His Word. We both completed two years of the Calvary Chapel residential discipleship programs in Bangor, Maine and both stayed to serve in the School of Ministry for an extra year as well. In preparation for the wedding day, we visited our venue and I had a moment alone outside overlooking the aisle I would be walking down. I had a flashback to the broken, abused, addicted girl I use to be.. I was looking out of a window hopelessly and thinking the thought I use to think every day.. "I'll never get out of here." At that moment, Psalm 18:16-19 came to my mind. "He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters... He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me." It brought tears to my eyes both then, and on our wedding day to think God so loved us both to not only create and die for us, but bring us both together in freedom and love. I am amazed He allows us to serve Him and be a light to the world, an example of His love for His church. The Lord has given me to such an amazing man. Not only is he an amazing pastor and shepherd to the church we serve in ministry at here in Hawaii, Travis is an amazing leader and shepherd in our home and family. They went with a true to Maine woodsy organic theme with decor which went perfectly with the log cabin feel of the venue. They chose to do their first look on a beautiful mountain in Dedham with one of the best views in Maine. This was a true celebration, simple in style --big in heart with friends and family from far and near to gather together before the couple made a big move to Hawaii where they are now giving their lives to help others. She was so present, and though she did a great job of being invisible, she felt like a part of the family by the end of the night. She smiled when we smiled, enjoyed the good times and even helped calm my nerves when I was anxious, giving me great encouragement.
Not only do we now have pictures of the special ceremony that took place, but also great action shots to capture our loved ones enjoying our day. The pictures that were taken are really a treasure to my heart and they tell a beautiful story of our special day. We will have these amazing photos to look back on and be ornaments in our home for years to come! |
